Fostering Empathy Through Museums

Dr. Gokcigdem introduced her first editorial work: “Fostering Empathy Through Museums,” at a panel discussion generously hosted by The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. Panel participants included the following contributing authors: Emlyn Koster, Director, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences; Amy Landau, Director of Curatorial Affairs, Curator of Islamic, South and Southeast Asian Art, The Walters Art Museum; Thomas Wide, Assistant Director for Special Projects, Arthur M. Sackler Gallery and the Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Institution; Jordan Potash, Assistant Professor, Art Therapy Program, GWU, and Miriam Bader Director of Education, Lower East Side Tenement Museum.
